SNUG, Netherlands User Group for IBM Lotus and WebSphere Software, currently undergoes a rapid growth in members and activities. Given the huge growth in IBM portal-, collaboration- en messagingsoftware in the Netherlands, this may not be a big surprise.

- Paying members: 350 (250% increase compared to 2004)
- Events: 6 annual events; 2-3 major events and 3-4 workshop-style
- Unique visitors to www.snug.nl: +200 'named' people monthly, several 100's anonymous visitors
- Mailings: more than 17,000 e-newsletters in 2007, around 18,000 est. for 2008
- Paper mailings: 5500 postcards in 2 mailings in 2007

SNUG = The meeting zone & market place for customers, partners, professionals and suppliers
Visitors to SNUG events consist of mainly customer delegates. Less than 1/3 are people from business partners. There is a trend towards smaller and more specialistic events with low-priced (usually entirely free) entrance fees. SNUG is being financed by partners and sponsors and only asks very low annual contributions to end user / customer user group members.

SNUG events and the entire SNUG overhead are paid by sponsor and partner contributions and countless hours of voluntary staff. The legal structure of SNUG is that of a non-profit foundation ('stichting'). Our independence is monitored by both the executive board as well as our Advisory Board.
